Runway teams up with Lionsgate to develop AI models for enhancing film production, exploring innovative content creation opportunities.
Runway and Lionsgate have announced a groundbreaking partnership aimed at revolutionizing the film production industry through the use of artificial intelligence (AI), according to runwayml.com.
Innovative AI Model Development
The collaboration will focus on the development and training of a new AI model tailored to Lionsgate’s extensive proprietary catalog. This initiative is designed to assist Lionsgate Studios, filmmakers, directors, and other creative professionals in enhancing their work by generating cinematic video content. The videos can then be refined using Runway’s suite of controllable tools.
Michael Burns, Vice Chair of Lionsgate, emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating, “Runway is a visionary, best-in-class partner who will help us utilize AI to develop cutting-edge, capital-efficient content creation opportunities. Several of our filmmakers are already excited about its potential applications to their pre-production and post-production processes. We view AI as a great tool for augmenting, enhancing, and supplementing our current operations.”
