AMD highlights AI, adaptive computing, and advanced workflows at IBC 2026, positioning itself as a key player in next-gen media production.

AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) is leveraging the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) 2026 in Amsterdam to showcase its adaptive computing and AI-driven innovations for next-generation media production. Running from September 11-14, the event highlights how AMD’s technology integrates AI, high-resolution workflows, and secure production systems into a seamless infrastructure for broadcasters and content creators.

As part of its fifth consecutive year as an Associate Sponsor of IBC’s Accelerator Media Innovation Programme, AMD is directly involved in advancing real-world solutions for media challenges. A centerpiece of its efforts this year is the FRAMES (Federated Retrieval, Agentic Media Environment and Software-Defined Workflows) project, which uses AI agents and semantic modeling to streamline media retrieval, upscaling, and production workflows. This proof of concept will be presented on September 11 at the Future Tech Stage, offering a clear demonstration of AMD’s potential to drive efficiency and control in high-complexity media environments.

AMD’s hardware also powers Pluxbox’s CoreOC platform, a vendor-agnostic orchestration system that integrates AI processing directly into media environments. Using AMD Ryzen™ AI Max PRO and Radeon™ AI PRO GPUs, alongside Threadripper™ PRO processors, CoreOC enables real-time coordination of workflows across different production tools, promising smarter and more responsive operations. Dennis Laupman, CCO of Pluxbox, emphasized how AMD’s compute capabilities are critical for bringing AI closer to the edge, allowing media teams to adapt and innovate more efficiently.

Beyond these projects, AMD’s technology is also central to high-performance media demonstrations at IBC. Apollyon Films is showcasing a 96-core AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper PRO processor paired with Radeon AI PRO and NVIDIA RTX GPUs to handle the enormous processing demands of 17K RAW footage. This level of resolution, captured using Blackmagic Design’s URSA Cine 17K 65 camera, pushes the limits of traditional production systems, further underscoring AMD’s role in enabling cutting-edge media workflows.

Security also takes center stage at IBC 2026, with AMD collaborating through its involvement in the Global Creative & Security Community (GC-SC). The group is launching a Collective Defense program designed to share threat intelligence across the media and entertainment industry. With growing reliance on interconnected systems, AMD’s leadership in both compute and security solutions positions it as a significant player in addressing emerging challenges like AI-driven threats and secure collaboration.

From an investor perspective, AMD’s focus on scalable media systems, AI acceleration, and IP-based infrastructure aligns with broader industry trends. As of September 11, 2026, AMD’s stock trades at $515.27, up 2.32% in the last 24 hours, with a market cap of $855.03 billion. Competitive pressures are intensifying, as NVIDIA also announced real-time AI tools for media workflows at IBC on September 9, signaling a race within the industry to dominate the growing AI and media production market.

The innovations on display at IBC 2026 illustrate AMD’s strategic push into AI-assisted production, converged workflows, and high-resolution media environments. With the event running through September 14, AMD’s performance, both on the show floor and in its stock price, will be closely watched by industry stakeholders and investors alike.
