World Liberty Financial is introducing a new token buyback program as its WLFI cryptocurrency struggles to recover from months of selling pressure.

The Trump-backed digital asset has declined more than 60% this year, with additional losses following the US midterm elections. However, the latest announcement could provide a potential catalyst for renewed buying interest.

In this WLFI price analysis, we examine whether the buyback initiative can improve market sentiment and what technical indicators suggest about the token’s next direction.

WLFI Buyback Plan Arrives After Major Price Decline

World Liberty Financial announced that its new buyback program could receive funding from revenue generated by reserves backing its USD1 stablecoin, alongside other sources.

The initiative aims to encourage governance participation and increase the voting power of long-term token holders.

The company has not disclosed the initial allocation or a detailed purchase schedule.

We believe this uncertainty is important because the program’s potential influence on market prices will depend on the actual volume and timing of purchases.

The announcement also follows broader weakness among Trump-associated cryptocurrencies, which we recently examined in our report on political tokens following the US midterms.

WLFI Price Analysis: Key Support and Resistance Levels

Technical reference levels from November 6 market data.

WLFI was trading near $0.0476 on November 6, with the token struggling to establish a sustained upward trend.

The immediate resistance area sits around $0.0482, while the recent intraday high near $0.0488 provides another level worth monitoring.

A convincing breakout above these levels could improve short-term momentum and potentially open the door toward the psychological $0.0500 mark.

However, buyers would need to maintain higher trading volumes to support a more sustainable recovery.

On the downside, immediate support is located around $0.0447, followed by the recent low near $0.0435.

A breakdown below these levels could extend the existing bearish trend.

RSI and Moving Averages Suggest Caution

Technical indicators currently present a mixed picture.

WLFI’s daily relative strength index has recently moved into the lower portion of its range, suggesting that selling pressure has become significant.

An oversold RSI can sometimes precede a temporary rebound, but it does not independently confirm that a market bottom has formed.

Meanwhile, the token remains below important longer-term moving averages, indicating that sellers continue to influence the broader trend.

We would look for improving momentum, higher lows, and a recovery above nearby resistance before interpreting the latest developments as a meaningful reversal.

Can Buybacks Restore Investor Confidence?

Token buybacks can reduce available selling pressure when purchases are sufficiently large and sustained. However, repurchases do not automatically reduce total token supply unless purchased tokens are permanently burned.

World Liberty Financial has already faced questions about governance participation and token distribution.

As previously covered in our WLFI governance analysis, concerns about voting power have influenced investor discussions surrounding the project.

The company’s broader USD1 strategy also remains relevant. Our earlier coverage of World Liberty Financial’s banking ambitions examined its efforts to expand stablecoin-related financial services.

Stronger ecosystem activity could eventually support confidence, although any direct price impact remains uncertain.

What Comes Next for WLFI?

The immediate technical outlook depends on whether WLFI can reclaim the $0.0482–$0.0488 resistance zone.

A sustained move above $0.0500 would strengthen the short-term bullish case, while continued weakness below $0.0447 could signal further downside risk.

We believe the buyback announcement creates an opportunity for sentiment to improve, but actual purchase activity and stronger market demand will be essential.

For now, WLFI remains technically vulnerable, although a confirmed breakout could mark the beginning of a recovery attempt.
