Bridging Entertainment IP and Financial Infrastructure
Soneium, the Sony-backed blockchain network focused on building an onchain entertainment ecosystem, has partnered with entertainment company Dayonedream to tokenize K-pop intellectual property and bring its revenue streams onchain at scale. The announcement was made on the first day of Korea Blockchain Week 2026, which runs until Oct. 1.
At the center of the alliance is WAVIST, Dayonedream’s platform designed to bridge entertainment IP with financial infrastructure. In May, WAVIST completed the execution of a tokenized IP bond issued to finance K-pop assets, managing the asset from issuance through redemption and burning.
Dayonedream’s roster includes global concert operations, IP management, and artists such as BTOB, LEE CHAE YEON, MEMI, and 2F. Through the partnership, the companies plan to utilize Soneium’s blockchain infrastructure to offer eligible users direct economic exposure to entertainment assets while providing creators and IP owners with alternative financing channels.
“K-pop is a market unlike any other, yet the way capital reaches it has barely changed,” said Dylan Cho, RWA Lead at Dayonedream. “Our partnership with Soneium sits where RWA, IP, and K-pop meet, and it opens a real path to investing through the IP itself. Traditional K-pop investment structures have historically restricted individual supporters from participating directly in the underlying economics of the media they consume. By tokenizing real-world assets (RWAs) associated with K-content, both companies aim to broaden access to production funding and revenue distribution, subject to regulatory compliance.
