Robinhood Chain Sees Uniswap Volume Reach $1.7B Daily
Robinhood’s crypto strategy is moving well beyond brokerage trading.
In roughly two months, the company has become the largest issuer of tokenized stocks by holder count. Robinhood stock tokens now have about 862,800 holders, surpassing Binance bStocks at 827,200, according to Token Terminal.
That shift is notable because it shows how quickly an established financial platform can gain market share once it combines distribution with onchain infrastructure.
Activity on Robinhood Chain, the company’s Ethereum layer-2 network, is accelerating just as quickly. Daily trading volume on Uniswap’s deployment reached $1.7 billion, roughly 10 times the level seen two weeks earlier. Cumulative Uniswap volume on the network has now exceeded $20 billion.
Robinhood Chain Emerges as a Major L2 Revenue Source
The revenue numbers are even more striking.
Robinhood Chain accounted for 78.5% of layer-2 blockchain revenue over the past 30 days. It generated about $4.6 million in revenue in a single day (Sept. 2), implying an annualized run rate of roughly $1.7 billion if that pace were maintained.
For a network launched only two months ago, the scale is significant.
The growth also reflects a broader shift in crypto. Tokenized equities are becoming one of the clearest bridges between traditional finance and blockchain markets, giving investors access to familiar assets with 24-hour trading and onchain settlement.
Robinhood’s advantage is distribution. It already has a large user base, and its tokenized stock business gives those customers a direct route into blockchain-based markets without starting from scratch on a crypto-native platform.
Vlad Tenev Remains Bullish on Bitcoin
Robinhood co-founder and CEO Vlad Tenev remains equally bullish on bitcoin, even as the company expands into tokenized stocks and other crypto products.
In an interview with The Iced Coffee Hour, Tenev described bitcoin as difficult to replicate because of its history and brand.
“Bitcoin is singular in a lot of ways, which makes it special,” he said. “You can create lots of Bitcoin imitators, but nobody can ever take the position of being the first and most trusted.”
Tenev also called Bitcoin the “original meme coin” and said it remains the primary crypto asset companies consider when building treasury strategies. Long-term, Tenev remains bullish on bitcoin, stopping short of making a bitcoin price prediction, saying he could not say whether it would reach $1 million.
The bigger story is that Robinhood is now building around both sides of the market: bitcoin as a long-term crypto asset, and tokenized securities as the infrastructure layer that may pull more traditional finance onchain.
